AI learning policy

Set the AI learning policy for a class

AI is part of how students learn in DojoCode, and every group decides how much of it its students get. The policy lives in the group's settings: open Groups, use the row menu of a class and choose Settings.

Presets

Five presets cover the usual cases. Picking one sets every switch below it.

PresetWhat students get
No AssistAI assistance off. Post-submission review and reflection stay available.
SocraticUnderstand mode and hints only, no implementation help.
GuidedUnderstand, hints and review, plus suggestions-only implementation.
Open AIAll assistance available, including full code editing.
CustomConfigure every capability individually.

Per-area switches

Below the presets, each learning area (solving a challenge, building a challenge, viewing and building projects) has its own controls: Understand help, the Implementation level, hints for failing challenge tests, code review, reflection and the Career Coach. Flip any of them and the preset switches to Custom, so it is always clear that the class runs its own mix.

AI grading

AI grading is separate from the learning help. Switch it on to let the AI evaluate submissions, then set how much the tests, the AI evaluation and your own review weigh in the final score. You can also require a teacher review before a grade counts, and choose whether students see the AI feedback.

Teaching language

The teaching language sets the language students learn in for this group: the interface, the AI companion and the feedback follow it. Authoring stays in English.

Saving

Save applies the policy to every student in the group right away. Students who belong to several groups get the policy of the group they are working in.
